Engagement Party Outfit

I mentioned earlier that I found a dress for my Engagement Party. The party is next Saturday and while it is dressy casual everyone tends to be more dressy then casual and I figured I could get away with this dress as the bride. Right? =) I was at home shopping this weekend in a cute boutique and I saw the Plenty dress that Mrs. P had picked for Preppy Wedding's Rehearsal Dinner. I did not realize that it is almost a pale yellow, not as ivory as it appears to me in the above picture (see close up pics below.) The material is almost like eyelet so that makes it a little more casual. Anyways, I tried it on and it fit perfectly and my fiance said I looked hot (sold)! Sarah over at The Seven Spot is wearing one of the outfits Mrs. P picked for my engagement party...so we are all switching around fabulous outfits thanks to our favorite blog stylist! I really want the Turq Diana earrings, but my roommate (who always keeps my spending in line) thinks I can find some cheaper ones. Is there any way to add some pink to this dress Mrs. P, or is that too much? Anyone have any other shoe ideas? Is a wrap my only options if ends up being colder? Do I have to go with Ivory? Next up...my Kitchen and Linen shower in April. It is a girly girl brunch affair and I need something pink! Lilly anyone?

The dress is gorgeous. You will look great. As the bride you should be dressy and wear white, after all it is all about you, right??

Best Wishes, Debbie

I love that you are all switching outfits! Since I have never met any of you it is a little hard to envision what will look best, so usually you are getting what I would wear! ;) I think adding pink would be a little much with this outfit and for shoes I think gold or neutral is the way to go. I also have the earrings and I have never found anything similar, so you might have to splurge! I am about to post 3 outfits for you, so hold tight! They are pink and lilly!!!

Great Choice! I just got the first choice in the mail a few days ago and I actually paired the gold shoes Mrs. P suggested on your outfit with my outfit. I would do a gold or a neutral with the dress for shoes. Here's a link to the style Mrs. P suggested in a beige color: http://www.endless.com/dp/B000EQ98U8/ref=sr_1-10/?&colors=Gold&size=20&page=4&dept=242169011&node=242169011&nodes=242169011&brands=&keywords=&sort=price&onsale=0&newarrivals=0&sizes=&widths=&heelheights=&userID=123456&page=4&fromPage=search

Oh I loved that dress when Mrs. P first posted it and I love it even more when you posted it today. Its just so darn cute. And if the fiance said it looks hot then you gotta trust that right?

I'd go with Mrs. P though and leave out the pink. (sad advice coming from a pink lover but i think its for the best on this outfit).

I love it all! I think the dress is awesome and I think I like it even a little more seeing that it's a little more yellow than ivory, gives it more of a vintage feel/look to me. Thanks for sharing all of this with us, it's really quite fun to see all your pictures/china pattern discussions, etc even for those of us who aren't getting married to follow along! Great fun!

Ok, no pick. I get it. =) Thanks for all of the comments. I'm going to wear my pale gold JCrew heels with it and roomie reminded me I could wear the Turq earrings I just bought that are pearls and gold. Very pretty. Now I just need a wrap idea and a clutch...
