Hi ladies! I got this email today and thought I would try to make a difference on this beautiful Friday. I know all of us have been affected by cancer at some point in our lives. This only takes a second to sign the petition to help.
Here's the deal:
There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's about eliminating the "drive-through mastectomy" where women are forced to go home just a few hours after surgery, against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached. Lifetime Television has put this bill on their web page with a petition drive to show your support.
PLEASE!! Sign the petition by clicking on the website below.

My younger sister had Non-Hodgkin's stage IV. She was very lucky to have a very attentive doctor and a yet another younger sister who is a nurse and became her patient advocate. This is one way that each person can be a patient advocate.
Thanks for posting this! My mom is undergoing breast cancer treatment right now. It's great to support this type of legislation that affects so many women.
