Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

Asking your best friends to be your bridesmaids is one of the first fun things you get to do at the beginning of your wedding planning. Some people ask immediately when they tell their friend they are engaged and some wait a few days and make a special phone call. This is fine and I think most people do it this way, but I love to add an element of creativity to everything. I came up with some great ideas that were out of my budget and ended up finding these cute cards below. I wrote each of my friends (I have 12 bridesmaids) a long note explaining to them why I wanted them to be a part of my special day. For my future sister-in-law I sent her a card and I sent her flowers. For my sister, I sent a mini pink bouquet with a card telling her how much she means to me and asking her to be my maid of honor. If you are not engaged yet, this is a great thing to come up with before you get engaged so that you can execute it quickly. Here are a few ideas that you could do: Above is my card I sent to my bridesmaids with a long note. Click on the card for the link to
E Beautifuly You.

I found these cute options on (it won't let me paste them, so just click on the links):

If you don't like these, I'm sure our friend Chole over at English Tea Paperie would design you a set in your wedding colors!

Monogrammed wedding cookies were my first choice, but because my bridesmaids were so spread out and it was late summer I decided to just got with the card. It would have been very cute though!

Send them their own diamond ring with a note or a poem asking them to be your bridesmaid.

Be extra creative and make a puzzle asking them to be a part of your big day and mail it to them!

Send them this cute book with a very special inscription, it is only $13.95 right now from Give Simple.

I would love to hear how you asked your bridesmaids to be a part of your special day or if you have any other great ideas to share with our readers! Good luck!

Those cookies are adorable!! Where did you find them? I have a local bakery that can make them, but not sure if I mailed them if they'd they'd arrive in a million pieces.

I also wrote personalized notes to each of my bridesmaids (I have 6). I think it is a really nice, personal way to invite people to celebrate your day. I can't wait to shop for "Thank you for being my bridesmaid" cards!

What wonderful ideas! They make me very sad to admit that I just called each of my bridesmaids to ask them. How boring.

I also wrote notes to each of my girls - I got them from www.paperbride.com - adorable notecards for all parts of the wedding. They said something like "Roses are red, violets are blue, will you be my bridesmaid, please say I do?"

Well, I guess I am not creative. I just asked my bridesmaids over the phone. I wasn't even sure if one could be in it ( my sister was living in Mainland China) and well she had been in the US 6 times prior that year before my wedding in mid-November.

I'm really sick of these Anonymous responses. If I had know the actual link then I would have used it. I bought my cards from the link I gave.

I'm planning on making custom iron-on transfers (you can get the transfer paper through HP) that say "Bridesmaid" and "Maid of Honor" to put on shirts that coordinate with the colors of our wedding. I'm also including a photo from years past of that friend and I along with a poem asking them to be my bridesmaid/maid of honor.
