Parent Gifts

Hi guys! I am looking for a creative idea for a gift to give our parents at the wedding. Any suggestions? I would think we would spend around $100.00 or so for each set of parents? I would love to know what y'all gave your parents or if you just have a creative idea. Thanks!!

I am getting married at the beach in NC and my parents will be down at the house for the entire week before the wedding. During this time I am treating them each to a massage to destress my mother because of all the planning and to calm my father as he writes all the final checks. :) The massages are $50 each so that hits my budget (same as yours) of $100 per couple.

We did a video of pictures set to music for my parents. The last slide was "Thank you". It will cost you quite abit to have someone else do it, but we did it ourselves on my husbands MAC. It was the best gift for my parents.

For my in-laws I got them these painted dishes with a golf theme from Swoozies. They own a club and the gift went over well.

I had necklaces made for both our moms and we did a personalized knife for his dad and a wallet for my dad (with a note about replinishing his savings). We also made photo books for them out of baby pictures from photoworks.com!

We had photo quilts made for our parents. We got to choose the design and colors and then we selected 9-10 photos of us as children to be placed throughout the quilt. We also were able to include a special message- mine read "Always and Forever Your Little Girl" The quilts tunred out beautifully and our parents loved them. We got them from http://doodlequilts.tripod.com. I believe they were $135 each.

For my parents, we had a set of black and white pictures framed. The frame held four pictures: one each of wedding pictures of my parent's parents, a wedding picture of my parents, and then me and my husbands engagement picture. Under each picture, we had the wedding date printed for each couple.

We are giving our parents each a framed engagement photo from us with a card that we are treating them to the parent albums after the wedding. - Elizabeth
