Hi friends! I had two friends from home in town for the past few days and we had a great time exploring the city. My husband starts his job tomorrow! We are both nervous and excited. He will be in training until Labor Day, and then he will have to work VERY long hours so we've tried to live it up the past few months. I'm trying to get myself into a good routine. I just started my job search, so I have a few informational interviews and I'm working hard to try to find something as quickly as possible. In the meantime, I am going to work on wedding thank you notes and fixing up our apartment. I also want to cook dinner for my husband every night this week because after Labor Day he won't ever be home for dinner. =( Does anyone have any good (and somewhat easy) recipes for me to try out?
We have continued to try out a lot of wonderful restaurants that the city has to offer. One of my friends treated me to a frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity. We ordered the peanut butter one and the regular and they were both heavenly! Of course, we also stopped by Dylan's candy bar to take in the sweet world there! My other friend treated us to lunch at Fred's at Barneys. I thought the food was okay and overpriced, but the people watching was FABULOUS! Last night we ate here , which was one of my favorites last summer while my husband was up here for his internship. We started with drinks with my friends here...what a cool place! Ok, time for a diet after all of this!
For those of you that have been worried about Daisy. She is doing MUCH better. She is sleeping next to my feet as I write. She is eating and drinking her normal amount and she hasn't been sick again since last weekend. We even met a dog walker for her in the elevator the other day.
Something fun....
Starting tomorrow I am going to showcase a few stores this week that I think y'all might like. I'm going to put a few items that I found via their websites and then offer you some type of discount that the owners want to pass along (Store owners, email if you want to take part.) Be sure to check back and see what goodies I've found for you!
Well, that is it for now. Hope y'all have a great day!

Go to Balthazar's (80 Srping St) & then some fun SOHO shopping..finish up the day with a drink at the Cub room (131 Sullivan St). You will love it!
I used to work for Wieden + Kennedy on Spring & Varick & lived in the West Village. I miss NYC!
So fun! I love the frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity and Dylan's. So glad you are having fun! I too love Balthazar's for brunch, yum!
Try Pearl Oyster Bar in Greenwich Village. It is amazing, and sort a nice break from being in the city.
Serendipity! That place is UTTER heaven.
