THREE in one day!

Aren't you ladies (and gentleman) lucky today! You get THREE posts! I just wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone and give you an update on life.

Things are going well in the city. The weather has been VERY cold and VERY warm. Thanks to the JCrew outlets I stocked up on my favorite cable sweaters and I'm trying to pick the right one to stay warm/cool. My job is picking up and keeping me more busy. I would still prefer to do something more related to the things I love, but for now I'm not going to complain. However, I'm always open for you to hire me if you have a great job! My husband just completed his rotations and got his first choice for his permanent placement. I'm very proud of him, but they say that with his job the next six months will be the hardest. I won't get to see him much, but I'm keeping pretty busy and really enjoying my Christmas gift to "him"!

Speaking of Christmas gifts. I gave out a lot of Whitney English personalized notepads as gifts to family and friends. Everyone LOVED them. I picked different designs that matched their personalities and from my mother-in-law to my picky sister I can not tell you how much of a hit they were! Thanks again to The Paper Cafe for the great deal! If you need a great birthday gift, Valentine's gift, etc...for $29.00 this can't be beat! My Whitney English Christmas cards were also a hit and I got so many great comments.

I've been meaning to thank everyone for all of the kind wishes for me regarding my health. I'm still having problems, but I went to another doctor yesterday and ruled out a few more things. I have an appointment with a specialist on Monday and a prescription for them to run another test, but I think we are on the right track to figuring out a way to make me feel better. =) I'll keep you posted. Thanks again for all of your sweet comments.

Good news! I have completed my provisional training. I met a great group of girls and really enjoyed the process. We have our graduation ceremony this week and I have received my first placement.

I've been to some great restaurants lately and I wanted to share them with y'all. Another great friend of mine just broke up with her boyfriend, so we went here for what she called comfort food with an upscale twist! We went to dinner here for New Years eve and it was fabulous! Their Wajito (a mojito with watermelon) was a great cocktail to help start a nice evening with friends. We had hangover cheesesteaks here on New Years day and it was one of the best I've had since I was in Philadelphia. Last weekend we had our office holiday party here. It was wonderful Indian food and we had a pretty good time! This week we went here again with a friend. It really is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. The margs are great and the guac tasting is the BEST IN TOWN!

I'll be helping plan a few baby showers in the upcoming months. I'm a wedding shower pro, but I've only done one baby shower. Does any one have any tips or suggestions on what makes a great baby shower? I can't wait to start looking for invitations. Being that I love stationary so much, that is my favorite part!

Fun news...our wedding is being featured in Southern Bride magazine this month! Let me know if you find it. =)

I'm heading home soon for Mardis Gras! I'm in a "secret organization" and this will be my fourth year riding on a float in our parade. It is so much fun and I CAN'T wait! Our theme this year is "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," and my float is "Chick Flicks." I am on a float with about 10 girls that I went to highschool with. We are all dressing up as different characters from chick flicks. I am doing Elle Woods from Legally blonde. I got this costume to accent the costume we have to wear and this wig! Isn't it perfect for a girl that loves pink?

This weekend we have guests coming! As you may remember my husband and I started our honeymoon in the German wine country. The winemaker and his girlfriend are coming to stay with us until Tuesday. They arrive tomorrow and I can't wait to do some NYC tourists activities. There are still so many things I haven't done yet! I have a great Fresh Direct order coming today so that I can be as good of a host as they were to us during our honeymoon at their hotel/vineyard.

Daisy's birthday is next week. Does anyone else obsessed with their dog have any good birthday ideas? She got this for Christmas and looks so great in it!

I would really like to change my blog design a little. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to change the background to a design. I tried for HOURS the other night and could not figure it out for the life of me. Please someone help!

Discounts and Sales: LuLu's Labels is offering 15% off with coupon code LOVE. Vineyard Vines is having a great sale. Did anyone pick up any great items during all the after Christmas sales?

Well, that is about all I've got now! I hope everyone is having a great new year so far. Thanks for reading! Here's a great quote for the the new year:

"The greatest thing in the world is not as much where we are, but in what direction we are going."

**Oliver Wendell Holmes

Love,

I am glad to read things are going well in your life! To put a design behind your header, start by downloading the image you would like onto your computer. Then go into the template tab of blogger. Click on edit and a window will pop up. You can upload the image here and choose for your text to appear over the image. I hope this helps! Let me know if you need any help. I learned this through trial and error!

Oops! I don't know if my comment was clear. To clarify, when you go under the template tab, click on edit at the bottom corner of the header space.

Thanks Lauren! I was also trying to figure out how to put a design where the green background is. I'm thinking I have to change templates. I even found a really cute new template, but blogger wouldn't except the HTML code so I got VERY frustrated! I really just want a blog facelift!

Sounds like you've been busy and happy!

Love your couch - def. worth the wait.

I picked up some Major steals at the J.Crew/BR outlets after Christmas, like you, I stocked up on my sweaters!

It is really to change your background. Find a fabric swatch, picture, or scrapbook page and upload it to photobucket to get a direct link for it. Then follow Bon Bon Boutique's directions (look under June in her stockroom). It is very simple! She also tells how to change your header!

Congrats on your NYJL graduation! Thats great!

And don't worry, you are not alone - I can't sleep without a blanket and don't really drink milk either!

Have a great weekend!

Great news overall and congrats! (BTW, love the Tory Burch bag from the previous post; also, it's Maria from "in the middle of somewhere" - I changed my blog over the new year).

One place that has great templates is suckmylolly.com - its were I got the black and white scrolly template for my old blog - it's new blogger friendly so you can still add the widgets and such.

Have a good weekend and a belated Happy New Year!

Wow! You are one busy girl! I've been getting practice at throwing the baby showers. My absolutely favorite thing to do is have each guest paint a onesie for the baby. I actually stole the idea off of "Gilmore Girls". Get the packs of onesies in different sizes so they can enjoy them longer. I also got fabric paint and puffy paint so there were different options. Also, you'll want to have pieces of cardboard so the paint won't bleed through and hangers to let them dry. I see my friend's baby in his all the time and everyone really enjoyed doing it at the shower.

I had a question I thought you might could help with...I am getting married in April and want to wear ballet slippers for the wedding, but I want them to be personalized. Do you know anywhere that sells monogram ballet slippers? Thanks so much!

What an honor that your wedding is going to be in Southern Bride! It sounds like you have had lots of great stuff going on. The watermelon mojito sounds yum!!!

Thanks for the help on the background! As you can see...I figured it out! Let me know if it takes to long to load.

Jen, I would just buy a pair of ballet slippers you like and take them to a monogrammer. I have not seen any companies that do them, but I'll look!
