A and I are heading to Mexico on Saturday! Wow! Baby J and I leave on Wednesday to head to my parent's in Alabama. I will meet A in Atlanta on Saturday to fly to Mexico with him. Sweet Baby J will stay with my Mom and Dad for FIVE nights. I have only left him once for one night his entire life, so I'm a nervous wreck. I know he'll be fine with my parents and I know, even more, that my sweet husband and I need some time "off" for rest and relaxation. I have to admit 5 mornings of sleeping in are sounding pretty appealing right now.
I haven't read a book (besides ones that are child related) really since before J was born and I need some good pink books. Pink books are what my friend Sarah calls, good and easy beach reads because most of them are pink! I love it! So what are your recomendations? I can't wait to hear them.
I also mentioned in the previous post that I need some drink recomendations. Mama can't wait to celebrate on the beach! What's your favorite beach drink?

Something Borrowed & Something Blue by Emily Giffin are my favorites I have read in awhile. SB is going to be a movie starring Cameron Diaz soon I've heard. Have SO much fun!
I've heard anything by Jen Lancaster is pretty funny. I'm actually going to be perusing your comments for people's recommendations because I haven't ready anything that isn't school related in about...7 years. I'm tired of dead languages.
I love books that have a series, so my faves are Sophie Kinsella's Shopoholic series--they're fantastically funny--and Emily Giffin's books. Both series are easy reads...VERY pink! :o)
Emily Giffin... Start with "Something Borrowed". Or anything by Jill Mansell. I recommend "Miranda's big Mistake". Jill has funny, easy reads that I live. Emily s a great writer and having a love for Manhattan, you will totally relate to her books. :).
I love "The Little Lady Agency" & "Finishing Touches" by Hester Browne both are terrific really funny & cute! If you haven't read Sophie Kinsella yet- everything by her is fabulous too :) Have a blast!!
The Help was fab! A very quick read!
Ohhh We go to MExico EVERY year but cant this year because I am pregnant (1st baby) and I am really curious about how I will feel going to Mexico next year and leaving baby with my parents in Alabama! Please post about that when you get back!
Make sure you drink some Michelatas ( sp?) by the pool. Its like a beer margarita, very refreshing without the punch! Also try some mojitos.
Have you read the THE HELP yet? I am reading that now and its really good.
Have Soooooo much fun!
As far as books go, I would recommend anything by Jane Green or Emily Giffin.
And for drinks, I'm a huge fan of Mai Tais, Bahama Mamas or any type of daquiri (I love rum!)
I think you would really like books by Mary Kay Andrews. My favorite of hers is Hissy Fit, oh and The Fixer Upper. They are all about Southern women and are easy, beach reads.
Definitely Jen Lancaster. Funny as funny can be. Seriously, you will laugh out loud constantly. Emily Griffin's books are good and easy, I agree.
I would also recommend Last Days of Summer by Steve Kluger for both you and your husband. Laugh out loud funny book about a little boy and baseball. Not something you would expect to love, but it's FANTASTIC. On my top 5 book list of all time.
Have a great time. Drink a margarita for me!! Hopefully I'll have my own in just a few weeks....
Have an amazing time! Emily Giffin books are great for the beach. I also like anything by Jennifer Weiner...she wrote "In Her Shoes" and "Good in Bed" which are both good. Also this book by her called "Goodnight Nobody" is also really funny!
"she's come undone" by wally lamb. i've read it like 5 times!
Agree...Emily Giffin's, Something Borrowed, Something Blue are great beach reads.
I just finished, The Help and it was wonderful too. Very easy read.
Have fun!!
Oh...drinks? Miami Vice! It's 1/2 pina colada and 1/2 strawberry daiquiri. So good.
And michelada's!!
Eat Pray Love and a mojito!
