I made my first blueberry pie! It was a pretty simple recipe I got from this recipe book. I did pretty well according to my pie loving husband. He now asks each afternoon what kind of pie I'm going to make him. =)
I need some last minute help. My friend A and I are making dinner tonight for my friend K (who had a baby about 2 months ago). A is making some kind of soup and I'm bringing salad and dessert. I've been so busy this week that I completely forgot it was tonight. So---I need your best salad and quick dessert recipes ladies. I may just buy dessert and make a special salad. Anyways, all the recipes I found have blue cheese in them and A is pregnant (due in one month) so any recipes you send my way need to have pregnant friendly pasteurized cheeses. Thanks for your help in advance!

Oh! I was going to make my Grandpa a Blueberry pie for this weekend. Any chance you could post the recipe? Yours looks amazing!!!
The blueberry pie looks delicious! I have the pink Kitchenaid too and love it. I am not sure what I love more, what the mixer does or the fact that it is pink?!
Enjoy your week!
I have a GREAT recipe for a Strawberry Spinach Salad! It is YUMMY!!! check out my blog for the post with the recipe.
Thanks Meredith--I am going to try this!!
Amelia--I will post it but it is at home. Remind me again if you don't see it on here soon.
Lauren--I hear ya on just loving it b/c it is pink. Everytime I look at it, it makes me happy.
looks delish...I'm not sure the kids would go for the blueberries, but that would leave more for me! Something different for cookouts too!
Thanks!
Love my KitchenAid.
Love blueberries and what you made looks fabulous.
My sister is part of the Chicagoland Jr League and one of my SIL is involved with another chapter so to say the least I have a few Jr League cookbooks. Love them all.
That is one fine looking pie.
Your pie looks delicious! I just inherited my grandmother's Kitchen Aid mixer and I can't wait to use it. Maybe I'll make my husband a pie!
My favorite salad is baby spinach, Craisins, candied pecans and strawberries tossed in a poppy seed vinagrette. Delish!
too funny the boyfriend just hollered from the other room that we should make a pie to take with us this weekend... yours looks delish!
Yum-my fave salad is:
romaine, tossed with caramelized pecans (caramelize w/ sugar on the stove), fresh strawberries and feta or blue cheese. (I think you can get them pasteurized, or atleast I am preg. and still eat them! Oh well!) Drizzle with some type of balsamic vinegarette. So good!
If you are looking for more of a "meal" salad - I love the Barefoot Contessa Lobster Cobb Salad. It is just as good without the gorgozola, but I believe most domestic soft cheeses are required to be pasturized (the label will specify). The recipe is in the original Barefoot Contessa cookbook, but if you don't have that & you'd like the recipe - email me & I will send it to you:)
Gorgeous pie, by the way!
This looks delicious.
I'll have to try it for my family this weekend.
