Thank you all for your birthday and moving well wishes! Everything went great and while we have a LONG ways to go before everything is organized and put away we are in our new apartment. We haven't hung any pictures and we're searching for a few odds and ends (see below--maybe you can help). I am super exhausted and did my best to not overdo it. I might have used the "I'm pregnant" excuse a few more times than I actually needed to. Sssh! =) We are still without internet and cable until Tuesday evening. It has been a killer! Thank goodness for the Olympics (HD ABC from our antenna) and
Starbucks!
We need:
1) New drapes!! Where did you buy yours? Did you have them made? Buy from Pottery Barn or somewhere like that? Any suggestions?
2) An extra long AND extra wide shower curtain--my current shower curtain only covers 1/2 of my large old fashion tub!
My bday was spent unpacking boxes. I took the day off on Thurs and Fri and am so glad that I did. I treated myself to a pedicure (a manicure would not have worked!!) and a haircut. My hubby took me to dinner here. He bought me the upgraded version of the Tiffany pearl necklace. I already have an heirloom pearl necklace, but I wanted something I could wear everyday. My goodness my pearls are fabulous! Also off my list, my Mom and Dad got me the Crane engraved calling cards (along with a paid ticket home whenever I want to cash in). A's parents gave me the tkts to the Clemson vs. Alabama game at the dome and a subscription to this magazine. A friend of mine does a column in it so I'm very excited! My sister got me baby baby booties, "Hello, Big Al" (a kid's book) and a book about sisters. My brother got me the Mom agenda. I got a few other fabulous gifts from friends that I took pictures of and will post when I find our camera cable. It was a great 28th birthday!
Daisy is having a tough transition. If you'll remember back to last year, she got so sick we had to give her an IV. This time we tried to make everything as easy as possible for her. We took her to doggy day care so she would be out of the way. I made sure she had her bed, food and water when she arrived. The bad part is there is not a close by grassy spot like our old apt. The closest park is Central Park and while it is only a few Aves away, I do not want to walk her there EVERY time she need to tee tee. So---it is time for Daisy to officially become a city dog and tee tee and #2 on the sidewalk. Always the lady, Daisy had a very tough time with this and refused to go to the bathroom for 27 hours the first day plus. I read up on how to retrain your dog to go on the sidewalk and everyone said it would be harder for the owners than the dogs. You just have to be strong. I was off work so I was able to take her out every couple hours and give her a chance. Between my husband and I we have taken poor Daisy outside probably 100 times this weekend begging her to "go potty." Trying to be the good New Yorkers we are training her to go between parked cars. She finally went the 1st time on a non-grated tree (FYI for those of you that don't know most trees and plants on the street have grates around them so your dog doesn't tee tee on their nice plants and kill them). I let it slip this time because it had been 27 hours and their was no grate. On Friday, she did #2 on the sidewalk--yeah Daisy!! She also got sick 4 times because of the stress of this. My poor puppy! But, we were strict with her and I am proud to announce...today after all this time Daisy FINALLY squatted in the street between parked cars. I am so proud!! Hope you loved all that bathroom talk about my dog, just wait until I start potty training my kid. I think this was good practice.
That's it for now! Hope y'all are well!! Pics of the new place to come...
It's a big week this week! We find out in less than 72 hours what our baby is ((if he/she behaves)!!

I bought two sets of drapes (to rotate based on season/dry cleaning). One pair is from Pottery Barn in green silk. I used the circle hooks to hang them instead of using the pocket style. The other pair are from Target in a mustard chenille. I got the extra long ones and hung my PB drapery rod a bit higher.
Good luck! (and happy late birthday!)
Hi! Happy birthday, happy move and I'm so excited to be your partner in The Mrs' preppy baby shower! Email me at linneyshvede at gmail dot com ... can't wait to start looking around for cute things for you and baby!

I am glad the move went well and Daisy is adjusting to her new routine.
My sister has on older bathtub like yours in her new apartment. She just bought two shower curtains.
Enjoy your week!
Yay! So happy to hear about the move, birthday, and Daisy!
I got several pair of drapes at Pottery barn - 2 silk and 1 cotton. But I recently discovered this fabulous website that has beautiful drapes and a great price
http://halfpricedrapes.com/index.html
I hope that helps!
Another great place to look for curtains is Z Gallerie.
Check out this really tall shower curtain

Happy birthday!! Here is a good web site for custom shower curtains fabricworkroom.com. Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel have good quality window treatments! Good luck.
I think pregnancy is a great excuse! LOL! I got my curtains from Calico corners. Had them made and they are fabulous. Look under my deocrating column and you'll see!
Pottery Barn silk drapes are the best...I bought the expresso ones for our "main doors." Target also has much less expensive (but still good) options.
I had so much fun reading your blog!...and we seem to have the same taste. I currently manage a children's boutique in Florida called Jellybeans. You should totally check out our website (and we monogram!) We are also still in the middle of our big sale. Go to www.shopjellybeans.com. Good Luck to you!
Happy Belated Birthday! Pottery Barn has cute drapes and I've also bought some from IKEA (there is a new one in Brooklyn!) Hang in there with Daisy, she'll settle into a new routine soon enough :)
What a big weekend! I am so thrilled your birthday was fabulous and that the move was smooth. I cannot wait to find out what your baby is! This is so thrilling!!
Congrats on your move (and the baby, too!) I have Pottery Barn drapes, and also have had luck with the Horchow sale section (for plain or striped silk drapes). Also have some Madura drapes (www.madurahome.com) but you'll need to hem and pleat yourself - so maybe that's just too much work! I've also had luck with shower curtains from Lands End and Garnet Hill.
Good luck!
you can get panels made in any of the fabrics at Ballard Design..also be sure and look at PB kids and teens..i have seen some really cute smockeded top ones there..GOOD LUCK..
also remember you can do things like use some of the fab shower curtains at Target!
I have never commented on your blog before, but have stalked it for a while now. Just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for the Brillante Weblog Premio 2008 Award as a small thank you for always having something interesting for me to read and also for having some amazing shopping links for me to spend my money at. :) Thanks again, Happy Blogging.
