Another Question for Y'all

Thanks so much for all of your suggestions for my questions earlier this week. Y'all never cease to amaze me. So since you are so good...a friend of mine emailed me to ask about purchasing a new overnight bag. She has a Vera Bradley bag with a broken zipper and it is going to cost too much to replace it. She was wondering what the new overnight "it" bag is these days? I still have my Vera Bradley with my old monogram and we really don't use them that much because we go on a plane anywhere we go. What do y'all use for short overnight trips?

Depending on the duration of travel and means of travel (air vs. car), I alternate between an extra large Boat and Tote with extra long straps from L.L. Bean, an old duffel from the snowboard company Burton and an LV duffel. None of which too chic, but all have held up through a very hectic travel schedule.

I have a decent sized tote bag that my mom made last year. I LOVE it for short trips (it's close to the size of the extra large tote from L.L. Bean, but I find that tote is too big for me to use.)

If it's just a quick trip I use an L. L. Bean extra-large tote with a zipper on top.

There is no instant shopping gratification to this one, but I'm obsessed with the Amy Butler Weekender Bag! I've crammed my grandmother's sewnig machine into our apt., and plan on re-teaching myself to sew so I can make one! Google "Amy Butler Weekender Bag" to see how amazing the pattern is!

when i graduated high school, my first grade teacher gave me an L.L. Bean boat and tote extra large and i use that thing every time i go on a weekend trip. it even fits perfectly under the seat in front of you in an airplane.

A lot of people I know are switching to Cinda B. I still am loyal to Vera but these are very cute!

I love my two Vera duffles, and depending on how much junk I'm taking, I pick the different size. They are so handy and easy to lug around!

Scout Bags are the greatest tote bags and come in all sizes and patterns. They are made out of a poly woven material that is extremely durable and lightweight. Best of all, they are water resistant and wpe down easily. I love the orginal tote and use it for overnight stays, as a pool bag, a tote for the ballfield, etc. My daughters use theirs as sports bag, for the stables, for books, etc. They are fun and functional. You will love them! They are available at www.kimscustomcards.com. I use mine all the time! You'll love it!

Hello! First time commenter and fellow New Yorker here...I bought a bag from Toss Designs to replace my Vera Bradley. I love it b/c it is semi-water proof, the patterns are a little more modern than VB and there are a few sizes to choose from. http://www.tossdesigns.com/
