A Happy Happy Birthday!

We just returned home to the city after 2.5 weeks in Alabama! We had a REALLY bad flight there (think 3 hour delay with screaming toddler who would not calm down and would not sleep) and REALLY great return flights today (angel slept the whole way.) It was such a fun trip and I miss my family already.

We spent the first weekend in Birmingham at a wedding. "A" was in the wedding and  R and R were just the cutest, most in love couple ever.  We had a great time dancing until the wee hours of the evening with old friends.

We went to a 1st birthday party for the cutest twins ever. M even let J taste her cake.

J and his redhead 1 year old gals! (Their grandfather introduced A and I!)

My little guy LOVES cake! Good thing we had lots of August birthdays to celebrate!

J got to meet another friend while we were in town. You can see they were both thrilled. These little guys Grandads have been best friends since they were in grade school.

August 12th was my Mom's birthday! We celebrated with a coldstone grasshopper cake. It was as good as it looks! It was so much fun to be with my Mom on her bday this year.

 Fun in coolers in Bama!

August 15th was my bday! I spent the weekend with my KD pledge sisters at one of their beach houses. We drank, swam, talked kids and told old stories. We played a few intense games of twister and taboo as well! We are getting wild in our old age. I brought my own bday cake. I told the girls, I was turning 30 and I was allowed to do that. It's a strawberry shortcake cake from The Little Cake shop in Spanish Fort, AL and it is BETTER than it looks. I had them put all the girls names on it that turned 30 this year since I missed celebrating their bdays with them. The girls decorated the house and had a party for me one evening and we wore party hats out to the bar one night! It was so much fun!

We had bellinis one morning. Aren't they pretty?

We made sure to head over to Pirates Cove for bushwackers and burgers. We met my brother and his girlfriend and "A" there and then went out in the boat for the rest of the afternoon. My sweet husband flew in on Saturday so he could celebrate with me on Sunday and spend a few days with J and I at the beach. Seriously, I am one lucky girl!

The evening of my actual birthday, A took me to Cobalt. It was delish! I got a makeup lesson and some new makeup from my family and "A" got me a beautiful classic burberry scarf! I had such a wonderful time celebrating my 30th surrounded by my family and friends. The celebration continues this weekend with an old friend in town and a NYC birthday party on Saturday night! Since my celebration continues, so will the birthday month giveaways...so get ready! They will last all month!
