My First Ebay Sales

I've bought plenty of items on Ebay, but this is my first attempt to sell a few items to make some room in my closet. (And this will also enable me to buy more baby clothes for Baby J.) Over the next few weeks, I'll be selling things that don't fit me anymore (or never did), maternity clothes, baby clothes that I won't be saving and whatever else I can find to help make some more room in our closets! Spring Cleaning!

I'm Two!

I'm sure this will become a theme in my life, but I have been so busy with baby J I have missed all sorts of little things. I realized while looking at some old posts that Feb 7th was my blogiversary. I'm two years old!!! This past year as been an exciting one for me and I wanted to thank you wonderful ladies that read my blog for your support and love during my pregnancy and the birth of baby J. I have made so many great bloggy friends these past two years. I started this blog as an outlet during my wedding planning and now here we are two years later and y'all are giving me baby advice. =) I want to give a special shout out to the ladies that gave me my first four comments: Maggi, Suburban Prep (the most wonderful commenter), Chloe and Melissa (formerly of Perfectly Pink--oh how I loved her blog)

My Maternity Ebay Finds

Here are my maternity ebay finds. I've been trying to win a bella band, but haven't had much luck yet. I also just made my 1st Gap/Old Navy Maternity purchase (I'll share in another post). I'm trying to buy mostly fall/winter clothes since that is when I'll need my maternity clothes the most, but I think I've done pretty well so far.

Vacation Notice and Happy Anniversary

We're leaving on our vacation tomorrow!! 9 DAYS and 8 NIGHTS at the beach!! I am so freaking excited. This is our first vacation since Christmas and we deserve it! As you know we were originally going to the DR, but we recently had to cancel due to a variety of circumstances (husband's job, we're looking to move, needed to save the $$, etc, etc, etc). But, we now are staying the entire time at my parent's beach house...for FREE! =) We also will have more of a chance to see family and friends. I get to see my friend A and meet baby Scarlett, see my friend S and her new man, see our good couple friend S and L (we just found out S is expecting Jan 31st!), see our honorary ring bearer and his wife, see my old roommate L, and so many more! I am getting excited just writing about it. My parents will join us on Wed and A's parents are joining us on Thursday. A 4th of July with both sets! We're very lucky to get to spend this special time with them. We booked skymiles tickets down there and lucked out with first class on the way there. Just put me on that plane asap! This white Southern Yankee needs a little color!

Monday is a very special day for us--it is our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! It is so hard to believe it has already been a year---but at the same time so much has happened and we've had tons of ups and downs so it kinda seems longer than a year. It's almost our one year anniversary of living in the city. Our cake is at my parent's house so we'll get to eat it for our anniversary! I can't wait to see how it tastes. We are giving each other a present--a trip to Atlanta to see the Alabama vs. Clemson (tickets=paper) game for Labor Day weekend and we are moving into a bigger apartment! We've been looking for over a month and we've seen about 25 apartments. Most were out of our budget (did you know 2 bedroom apartments on the Upper East side average about $3400-$4500---1 bedrooms average about $2500-$3300--yeah that is to RENT--and it sucks!). Anyways--we most likely (fingers crossed) are going to move into our friend M&A's Junior 4 apartment (A is the one that just had the baby). They are moving back South and we are moving into their darling apartment should everything go accordingly. Please say a prayer for us that it does.

So that's the update. I'm off to bask in the Southern sun and fill myself up with good seafood, southern dishes, and lots of love from family and friends!

I probably won't be posting next week, but do check back on Monday for some special--never seen before wedding pictures that I'll post. Have a great 4th of July everyone!

Preppy Swap Questions

I'm a little late with this for my preppy SUMMER swap partner. But here it goes:

2. Favorite preppy accessories? Anything and everything monogrammed, polka dotted
I also love pearls and cardigans.
3. Any hobbies? Besides blogging, working, eating and shopping?
4. Enjoy crafting, if so anything in particular? I'm not that crafty, but I do wrapping paper, tissue, ribbons
5. Favorite books/magazines? People (I have a subscription and read it every week)
6. Any other favorite things? My favorite colors are pink and green (in that order) if the two are polka dotted together--even better.
7. Collect anything? Cookbooks, silver picture frames, earrings, greeting cards (I have quite a collection), stationary
8. Any kids/pets? Daisy, my 3 year old golden retriever
9. Any allergies? Apparently I have a sensitivity to wheat products (gluten). Just found this out and I'm not liking it.
10. Favorite thing to do in the Summer? Go to the beach, boat riding, drinking tropical drinks!
11. What most makes you think of Summer? Warm weather---it still isn't warm in NYC!
12. Favorite treat/drink? Margaritas, anything peanut butter/chocolate, cupcakes, wine, sweet tea

Now You See Me...Now You Don't!

Hello blogworld! Happy Friday!

I've got a nice scratchy throat and a ticket back to the South at 10pm. A little bit of peppermint tea and some Dayquil and I hope to be feeling better soon. The baby shower I've been planning is tomorrow morning at 11:00am. It is 7 of my KD pledge sisters throwing the shower so I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone and catching up. We found out this week that K is expecting too! Her pregnancy is truly a blessing and I'm so excited for her! If you are counting...that makes TEN friends who are having babies this year! Yep, TEN!! First came the weddings and now we are full force into baby world. I'm learning all kinds of new information and with my 3rd baby shower of the year next month I know I'll be a pro at baby showers soon. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures. My Mom, sister and brother are also coming into town to see me and A. We are all going to dinner with A's parents on Saturday night. It will be nice to see everyone and catch up. It is a quick trip (I think we are there less than 48 hours), but it will be fun to be back in the South. Of course, I seem to be bringing the cold weather with me so I might need an outfit change for tomorrow.

I had a reader question...where does one get some cute baptismal gifts? I thought this would be an easy post, but I'm having trouble finding a whole lot. I would love your suggestions to help round out my post! What do you give for a baptism? Send links and pictures!

Side note. If you didn't notice...I'm back public! I took care of what I needed to take care of and I'm going to give it a try again. Be gentle. For all those readers that stayed with me during my private month, blogger saves your addresses so depending on my mood swings you might one day click on my blog and find you have to sign in again. But, we won't have to go through the whole sending email addresses mess again. It will be painless.
