Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to my Dad! He is such an amazing Father and continues to be there for me even now that I'm all grown up with a family of my own. He is a wonderful Grandfather now to J. I can't wait to see him in a few weeks and go for a few boat rides! Love you Dad!

And Happy Father's Day to my sweet A. My husband and the father of our baby boy. He is such an amazing Daddy and I love him so much! We celebrated with brunch today and he got a few fun gifts from J and me. I framed the cover of Sports Illustrated from when Bama won the National Championship and our tickets from the game. It turned out great! He also got a Vineyard Vines cummerbund set and a Garmon for our travels around the city!

Thinking and praying for all of you who are missing your Dads today and for all of the Dads out there who hope to be Dads sometime soon.

Weekend NBA Fun for New York Dads

Do you live in the city? Is your favorite Dad an NBA fan? If so, there is a great event that you should take him to on Saturday. The NBA, Sprite and Lebron James are hosting a Slam Dunk Showdown at the South Street Seaport this Saturday the 19th of June. The Showdown is all about finding the best amateur dunkers in the area and taking them to compete against other non-pro, non-collegiate dunkers across the country.

Fans can compete in the Showdown by submitting videos online of themselves dunking and/or vote for their favorite dunkers on NBA.com/dunk. A cool twist is fan votes will help select the winners at each event as well as the top user submitted dunk videos online. Top dunkers will win cash prizes and have a chance to compete at NBA All-Star weekend in 2011.

2nd Baby Gift

A friend just emailed me and asked me if I had a great idea for a 2nd baby gift. This is the 2nd boy, so they are good on clothes and toys. Normally I would suggest something monogrammed for the 2nd child since they will get so many hand me downs, but this Mom owns a monogramming shop in the South. Hmmm. I am stumped. Any ideas? What do you give the 2nd baby? What's your favorite big brother/big sister gift too?

The High Line Park

A and I recently took J to Chelsea Market and for a walk on The High Line. What a fun afternoon in the city. If you are coming for a visit you should definitely check it out. We started off our afternoon with a black and white milk shake from Ronnybrook. So amazingly delicious. I had to fight my two boys to get a sip! We couldn't pass up a chance at a fabulous Fat Witch brownie. We had a great time walking around exploring all the great shops.

After all of our treats, we headed up to The High Line. We were able to take an elevator with the stroller and then were treated to the most amazing views. The High Line was created in 1930 in an effort to remove dangerous trains from the street level. To read more about the history, click here.

This is the viewing area up above the streets. I love these pictures! My sister said it looked like J was playing in the streets!
