Three of my friends have recently had babies and I'm new to baby gift giving. What do you normally give for a baby gift? Email me a picture, link or idea to
magnoliasmarriageandmanhattan@gmail.com and I'll put together a post with all of the fabulous preppy ideas y'all have.
Do they have a registry somewhere, like Babies R Us or something? Otherwise, a cute outfit or two in a larger than newborn size is what my mother always buys and now I do too.
ReplyDeleteMustella. They have the best baby products. And all new moms love them!
ReplyDeleteI have given baby blankets that are bigger than regual baby blankets (so they can gorw with the child). I am a knitter and have a wonderful pattern. I have made them all in a soft yarn that is off white (so it will go with most decor). The yarn also has to be able to be machine washed.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of giving practical shower gifts, but then sending a fun small gift once the baby arrives. Among my group of friends, very few people reveal the baby's name before it is born, so I like to send monogrammed burp cloths after the little one arrives. Baby Sophia Gifts and Lauren Nicole do cute ones.
ReplyDeleteI just had a baby 6 months ago (my second.) The gifts I appreciated most of all wouldn't be given away later (i.e. wipe warmer.) A simple elegant silver rattle, a wee spoon with a monogram, a kit for handprints or footprints, a handmade blanket. Etsy has the most adorable gifts - go for homemade and support independent businesswomen!
ReplyDeleteI like giving Mackenzie Childs dinner ware for presents. The plates, bowls, and cups are extremely cute, durable and something they can keep forever. Here is a line. http://www.mackenzie-childs.com/productlist.aspx?orgid=115&floor=8&dept=10&col=115&keywords=/Tab8/Ena10/Ani115/
