A friend recently asked me for some tips on websites that might have monogrammed kid's bowls and plates and personalized placements. Here are the sites I gave her if you're in need of something similar anytime soon:
Daisy told me she wanted to sport one of these collars this summer? She just might be the preppiest dog on the Upper East Side. Although, there is quite a bit of competition. =) I'm loving these adorable summer collars. Buy them at Harry Barker!
One of my fellow preppy bloggers has gone into business...officially! Congrats to Ciarla and her new business, Southern Wears and Gifts. She has adorable preppy designs that can be put on just about everything. Check her out! http://www.southernwears.com/
I think J is going to need one of these cute designs on a t-shirt very soon. I also love the placemat. I really love her nautical designs.
This recipe is surprisingly good! Enjoy you Southern lovin' skinny thangs!
1/2 cup fat-free buttermilk
1/2 cup cornflakes, crushed
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
2 lbs of chicken (recipes says parts...I used breasts)
4 teaspoons canola oil
1. Preheat Oven to 400F;spray a large baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
2. Pour the buttermilk into a large shallow bowl. On a sheet of wax paper, combine the cornflake crumbs, flour, salt, and pepper. Dip the chicken in the buttermilk, then dredge in the cornflake mixture, coating completely. Place the chicken on the baking sheet; drizzle with the oil. Bake 30 minutes, then turn chicken over. Bake until cooked through, 15-20 minutes longer.
Per serving (about 2 pieces if using parts): 229 Cal, 10g Fat, 2g Sat Fat, 0g Trans Fat
Recipe found in Weight Watchers New Complete Cookbook.
Ever since I was little (and grew up in Atlanta), my airline of choice is normally Delta. Delta has let me down many, many times and they have done some wonderful things as well. Air travel these days is tough, add a toddler who doesn't want to sit...and well it is an adventure. In order for A and I to travel to Mexico, I had to fly J home to my parents. This required that we check not 1, but 2 bags! YIKES! When we fly with A we don't have to worry about paying baggage fees because he is medallion frequent flyer, but when we are on our own we hand over the cash. That first bag is now $30.00! From here on out, I don't have to pay it! I'm also a long time American Express fan and since I fly Delta, I have the Delta Amex card. I love it and it helps me earn free flights home. They recently announced that all card holders can now check their first bag for free! This will pay the annual fee in no time at all for us! We also get a companion certificate once a year (basically a buy one get one free.)
Delta is currently offering a promotion for new card holders to by referred by current card holders. I can get 10,000 miles for referring you and you will get 20,000 miles (5,000 are medallion qualifying miles). You get an additional 5,000 miles if you add someone to your account.
Email me if you are interested: email@example.com. I'm always looking for a few more miles so I can head South to the family!
These are a few shots from the engagement party that we held for my husband's cousin at PJ Clarke's on the Hudson last week. It was a great party and we had a private patio that overlooked a marina. We even had a view of the Statue of Liberty as we sipped our beverages, it was such an amazing experience! Our patio also had a bar and hamburger buffet set up, complete with PJ Clark's famous onion straws and fries. YUM! It was a great night and if you were wondering, I went with the 1st dress! We did minimal decorating because it was at a restaurant and the linens were already provided, just a small little bouquet reminded everyone we weren't just there for after dinner drinks!
The statue of liberty is that small long figure behind the lamp post. It was so pretty when the sun was setting!
I also borrowed a few pictures off one of my friend's blog for the other party that we helped host on Thursday night. These are pictures from the Bama party that I shared the invite. I can take no credit at all for the incredible details as I wasn't there to help. I do take credit for having such awesome and amazingly talented friends!! =)
Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to claim your prize! Thank you to everyone for entering. Be on the lookout for more fun giveaways soon. If you are a vendor interested in being on the schedule for June or July giveaways please email me. Spaces filling up!
I'm hosting my first online 31 Show. Have you heard of 31? I had not until my friend Tracy became a consultant. Their stuff is adorable and how could I not share it with my preppy readers. (Of course, the hostess rewards are always nice, so spend, spend, spend! Ha, Ha!) There really are some great deals and almost everything can me monogrammed for an additional $6.00. Win and win. I could go on and on, but your better off just taking a look at the site and their online catalog.
