New York Restaurant and Broadway Recomendations

I often get emails asking for NYC Restaurant and Broadway Recommendations. I do not consider myself an expert by any means, but I have experienced quite a few wonderful meals and shows during our 3 years (this month!)here. There are so many more restaurants we want to try as well and you couldn't hit them all even if you ate at a different one each night!

Here are some recent recs I sent a reader, a few of my personal favorites!

My favorites shows that are currently on Broadway:

These are the newer shows I'm dying to see:

What are your favorite NYC shows and restaurants? Any I need to try?

We usually make a trip to NY once or twice a year and always try to hit a show or two. Last time we saw Memphis and White Christmas. Memphis was amazing! It was still in previews but it was tHe same cast and so good. A couple of years ago we saw The Little Mermaid and really enjoyed it. Even if you're not a Disney fan, you have to admit they know how to put on a show and it's really impressive to see how they capture both land and sea onstage. It's a great show.

We rarely plan our restaurants in advance and so we're always on te hunt at the last minute when we're famished. One place we do enjoy going though is ellen's stardust diner on broadway. It's a bit kitschy but a fun place. The waitstaff are all aspiring stars and sing while they work. I'm often impressed by their multitasking, and, if course, their singing! Late night, your often likely to catch broadway performer after a show willing to do a number or two.

Sarabeths in Central Park for brunch. YUM!! Also, a little dive for lunch...literally a dive! Pommes Frites (on 2nd Ave). I saw it on the Food Network and have been a couple of times now. Just french fries with all the toppings you can possibly think of. You get them in a funnel shaped cone and walk to a bench to eat them. YUM!

I'm a bit of a Broadway junkie myself! i've seen Memphis and Billy Elliot. Both were absolutely amazing! (Memphis was particularly special to me because I used to live there.) I too want to see Le Cage and American Idiot. I'm also dying to see Rock of Ages. I know it's cheesy, but I hear it's a lot of fun!

Thanks for the recommendations!

My daughter and I are coming down on Friday. We're going to Serendipity Friday night. We may try Toloache Saturday, it caught my eye on OpenTable.

I like the Serafina restaurants, I've been to two and have enjoyed both meals.

I have a question for you if you happen to have time to answer. I am planning a Bachelorette Party for a group of 8 girls. Is there anywhere you would recommend for a girls' dinner? Any ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated! :) Thank you in advance.
