Hurricane Season Shoes

A friend just forwarded me this and I had to share! If you are from the Gulf Coast you'll appreciate anything to make you laugh about the not so funny hurricane heading up the Gulf.

Prayers and Thanks!

(image from Noaa)

Please keep all of the people on the Gulf Coast in your prayers this weekend. My parents live full time in the projected cone of Gustav and our new beach house is also in the cone. My Dad has been through a great deal of stress lately and I know this is so hard on him. I have friends in Pensacola, Mobile, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and Baton Rouge so this hurricane has no "good" spot to end up.

You may remember I posted awhile back about A and I's friend that had IVF after two miscarriages. This morning God blessed them with two little heart flickers on the ultrasound screen. It is still very early and E is high risk because of the previous miscarriages, but right now things look good and the TWINS are expected on April 27th!! Most of our friends that are pregnant or have just had babies live in the South, so I'm so excited that Baby U will have two NYC babies to play with and I'll have another local Mom to compare notes with. God is good.

We also learned this week that my good friend Shelley is expecting a boy as well! She is due the week before me and our husbands played football together in high school. A and L are so excited they are going to have boys the same age! Another friend from my sorority alum group back in the South found out yesterday she is having a boy as well! The girl tide has turned and there is a sea of blue!!!

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Labor Day. A and are heading tomorrow evening to Atlanta for the Alabama vs. Clemson game! It is our first time out of the city in almost two months and we are staying with my younger brother. My sister (who goes to UA) is also coming up and staying with us. I get to see lots of friends that are going to the game so it will be a fabulous weekend!! I'm so excited, I wish we were leaving tonight!

Ok a few random questions for the y'all (mom, aunts grandmas, etc):

1) I'm on the hunt for a baby book and not having a lot of luck. Any suggestions?

2) What is the BEST diaper bag on the market. I wanted the Pottery Barn Ultimate Diaper Bag in Chocolate Brown but they DISCONTINUED it and I just lost the bidding on ebay. Any other suggestions?

3) Anyone know where I can find a reasonably priced white iron crib?

Thank You The Paper Menu!!

Please check out the PRECIOUS stroller note cards that Marie sent me (I blurred my name for privacy reasons because y'all know I don't use my name on the blog). Are they not the cutest things ever? I LOVE The Paper Menu!! Thanks Marie!! I have loved meeting amazing people like Marie through the blog world. We quickly realized (after about my 4th order--I'm telling you her stuff is the cutest and most reasonably priced stationary around) that we were from the same area, cheered for the same team (ROLL TIDE) and even had friends in common! You can check out the rest of Marie's precious invitations, wrapping paper, note cards, calling cards, announcements, and decals here at The Paper Cafe.

Baby Boys!

Because I know you won't judge...this is what I did this weekend. I got ALL of this from ebay instead of buying a nice and expensive outfit from one of the stores on Madison, so the way I look at it--I win, he wins, we win! All outfits are either new or in excellent condition! Go me! I'm done now so no lecturing.

And what are clothes without a cute model? I want to introduce you to Master U...the little one who will be wearing all of these fabulous finds!

Thank You Maternitique!

I want to use today to give a belated thanks to another wonderful store that sent me a little pregnancy/baby surprise. I'm not even sure how I came across the Marternitique website (probably in a desperate google search for morning sickness products), but I did and they have a TON of fabulous gifts and treats for Moms to be and new Moms and babies.

This is the special treat I received in the mail with a note to encourage me to keep eating while I was sick! =) So thoughtful! I just found my blender in a box this weekend so I am most definitely going to finally try one of these fabulous shakes. I checked out the recipes and it said you could add a banana and/or peanut butter to make it even more fabulous and good for baby! Yummy! Thank you so much Maternitique!

Check out their website and you'll find some of these other fabulous products!

The Belli Pregnancy Gift Bag!

I got a sample of this Belli lavender belly oil and it smelled so fabulous!

My sister sent me a picture of a sign with Belli Bar's slogan " Baby Needs Chocolate." I couldn't agree more. I told her to get me one of these bars so I could try it. Check out all the flavors!
This is a waiting band (for when your wedding ring doesn't fit). So sweet! How many of you had to take your wedding bands off?

This Morning Rescue Cream promises to help with morning sickness...I was a little late in finding it, but I will have some next time for sure! This Phases of Labor comfort kit looks like it would be welcomed for any 1st time Mom looking for a solution to make things a little easier! (I know all you Moms are laughing!)

Thank You!!

Thank you for all of your sweet comments yesterday about our baby BOY! I can't believe we're going to have a son. My friends think it is so funny that such a pink obsessed girl is going to be in a sea of blue. But, you know what--I love green and blue and boys outfits can be monogrammed and smocked too! Trust me--I've been shopping online for about the past 24 hours now. =)

I would also like to say thanks for not one, not two, but THREE nominations I received! I have never received an award so if my "baby boy high" wasn't high enough, you girls made me just hit the clouds! Thanks!

The first nomination is from DMLD. She wrote the sweetest note and things on her blog (Getting Here From There) and I can't wait to check it out and read her on a regular basis. The award is the Brillant Weblog Premio 2008/Diamond Award!

The second nomination came from Belle in Bloom! Thanks Belle!

And the third came from the hostess of the fabulous bloggy baby shower, the creative One Fabulous Mom! She just called hers the diamond award and had a different logo so that means I can pass these along to EXTRA people!!

Apparently, when you are nominated for this award, there are a few rules that go along with it. They are as follows:

1. Put the logo on your blog
So, here it is
2. Add a link to the person who awarded you
Already Done! See my preppy blog reads.

3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs (I got nominated 2 times so I do 14!)

4. Add links to those blogs on yours
Most of the blogs I read are linked, so, not a problem

5. Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs

On that now as I nominate:

1. The Preppy Wedding
2. The Preppy Lizard
3. A Study of Schoolbooks and Shoes
4. Kelly's Korner
5. Puttin' On the Grits
6. Jewish Girl in a Wasp's Clothing
7. Mrs. LSL
8. Laughing Out Loud
9. Barefoot in the Park
10. Monograms and Manicures
11. Call the Preppies In
12. The Blissful Belle
13. Hello0000000 gorgeous!
14. Some Like It Southern

For the Diamond Award here is the pretty diamond you receive!

I nominate:

1. Love, Life and Labradors
2. All Things Kimba
3. Sunshine in the City
4. Perfectly Pink (Please come back)
5. Mitsah B?! That's a Man's Name
6. The Beach Rose
7. My Life in Pink and Green

Please pass the love along!! I probably don't have time to tell each of you today--but I promise I will soon--we STILL do not have internet at home--don't get me started. I found out last night that we are not going to be able to go "home" for A's 10 year high school reunion tonight. We were supposed to fly standby and spend the weekend at his parent's house. He got put on a big project at work (again) so we're stuck in the city and I'm going to have to spend the weekend shopping for baby boy clothes to make me happy. =)

HAPPY FRIDAY!! Have a wonderful weekend!

Mom Agenda

As you may remember I put the Mom Agenda on my Bday wish list since I'm going to be a mommy soon. So my brother gave me $ to get the Mom agenda and now I'm not sure which one to get. Suggestions from those of you that have one? Is the kitchen folio and desktop too big for a large purse? Help! Does anyone have a coupon code for a discount? Thanks for your help ladies!

The mini daily?
The new kitchen folio?
The desktop version?

A DozenEggs and A Dozen Thanks!

I am WAY behind on a couple of thank yous for some generous gifts I have received! I want to give you each your own special thank you post so bare with me! I promise as soon as I can find the box with my stationary collection in it (yes, it has its own box--don't judge) you will all get proper thank yous.

I want to start with a thank you to A Dozen Eggs. They make the most precious cookies in the world. I received a tin of baby cookies complete with boy and girl cookies and MMM baby blocks! This was such a thoughtful gift and now that I am starting to feel better I have to admit that A and I ate them ALL in two days. Thanks A Dozen Eggs and everyone please check out their website. These would be perfect for your next bridal or baby shower or as a bday gift!

In other news--do y'all remember what tomorrow is?? It's Baby U's big day! We find out tomorrow morning if we are having a girl or a boy--so if our baby behaves and the ultrasound tech is 90% sure or more then I'll post tomorrow if we'll have pink and green or blue and green! A few friends have warned me to not get too excited because it is still early (I'll be 15 1/2 weeks) and some of their babies had their legs crossed and one friend was even told she was having a boy only to find out 6 weeks later she was having a girl!! Guess I should go too crazy! Regardless, I feel like tomorrow is Christmas. I am so excited. Make sure you vote on the sidebar--as of right now it seems y'all think we are having a girl! I'm sure I could work with that. =)
A special congrats to Kelly who found out yesterday she is having a little girl!

Happy 27th Birthday to my sister-in-law! (Even though she doesn't know about my blog-!!)
